This was my first make of the year, and it went together super fast. It is using the Fen Dress pattern by the amazing girls at Fancy Tiger. My biggest mistake, in wanting to hurry, was that I didn’t make a muslin. I know… So the top was a bit too wide. So I just sewed up a seam in the front, and it is perfect. Next time it will be seamless.
Other notes: I had to get extra yardage, because I decided to cut it so that the stripes were perpendicular, hopefully more flattering. Also, I cut the neck binding a bit wider. I like how it sort of stands up. Definitely will do that again.
I used an amazing double gauze, and now I want to sew many more garments with it. It was by Cotton + Steel, Bespoke double gauze, peach colorway. It was very easy to sew, and it is extremely comfortable. Added benefit, it happens to be the colors of the Denver Broncos, so it came in very handy during the Super Bowl season!!!
